PTFA (Parents, Teachers & Friends Association)

The Parents, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA) is a group of parents and other interested people that actively enhances the wellbeing of not only our students, but the wider school community as a whole. This takes many different forms, such as providing classroom resources, subsidising school trips and camps, providing uniforms for our sports teams, funding special school projects, and even looking after families in need through our Helping Hands program. The resources for these initiatives come from several different forms of fundraising throughout the year. Our three major fundraisers are the Monster MTB Challenge, rubbish collection at the Summer Concert, and our Bi-annual Gala.

There are two ways you can become involved with helping our community through the PTFA:

Firstly, simply join the PTFA. It’s free, and can be done by emailing PTFA@stpatstaupo.school.nz Membership is a great way to keep up to date with the PTFA without having to commit to regular meetings. You can join sub-committees on areas that interest you, volunteer to help at fundraisers that suit you and will have voting rights at any General Meetings.

Secondly, join the Executive Committee. This is the group charged with the day to day running of the PTFA. They meet monthly, generally at 7pm on the third Tuesday of each month in the school staffroom. All members of the PTFA are welcome to attend. Being a member of the Executive Committee is a great way to be actively involved in helping out our school community.

To find out more information, volunteer to help at an event, or to ask any questions, please either email the PTFA at PTFA@stpatstaupo.school.nz or contact our chairperson Nicola Carter 021 908 886 / nicola@totalsport.co.nz

Fundraising Events

The purpose of the PTFA is to raise funds that will ultimately be used to support each and every child in our school, in some way or another.

Each year we have two major events, the Summer Concert and the Monster Mountain Bike Challenge. Bi-annually we hold a Twilight Gala. These events raised quite a substantial amount of funds which enabled us to install a fitness trail and extend our playground equipment, among other things.
